03 c220 cdi starting problems

Hi all, was hopeing to make my first post as something other than a problems but hey thats life :sad: anyways, i recently bought an 03 c220 cdi and i find it a dream to drive, but its not come without its problems.. first of all an injector went, then the gear linkage.
Anyway today i went out to let the windows down to keep the heat down, got the windows down after starting the car. anyway the car then switched itself off and and now it wont let me turn the key in the ignition, it locks and unlocks but it wont let me turn the key, the steering is unlocked and wont lock which i found funny. but now im left with the windows down and a car than wont let me turn the key. Anyone on here want to give me a few hints as to whats going on????

Sounds like the EIS has gone down, have you another key to try, only thing to do is a battery reset, this sometimes wakes everything all up but with doing that there a chance of blowing the rear sam!!!

as for the windows point the key at the door handle and hold lock button, it should close them all, should, unless the key is u/s

i dont have a spare key EIS why does this sound bad

its the ign switch itself, not uncommon im sorry to say!!!! did you try putting the windows up with the key???

yeah i got my windows up thanks . I was reading threw the forum and seen the ignition switch problem but found it funny the way the car just died when it was going and wont let me change out of park or turn the key.... and the steering is unlocked

yeah wierd cars arnt they, without having a star machine pluged in we are just guessing at what it could be, aything from a SAM gone down or control unit, you need to get the fault codes read, have you a indi near you???

indi????? dont know what that is, But on the + side ive an auto electrition coming out now so if theres any faults i'll find them

got it put on the computer..... Turns out it was just a blowen fuse lol, Heres me expecting big bills from a merc dealer
