Dear all,
following a failed attempt to revive the battery in an 03 registration C180 Kompressor over the winter, I need to buy a replacement to get teh car running again.
I called the Mercedes main dealer to find out what battery I needed and they were not particularly helpful. Despite being polite (or perhaps I was too polite with them), the parts manager's tone of voice sounded like I had just announced I had killed his mother. Very rude indeed. Anyway, he eventually said I needed a 100Amp battery at a cost of £120 plus VAT! Is this right? Having called places such as Halfords and a local dealership, I have been told that a 100Amp battery is far to large to fit under the bonnet, where the current battery sits. They have advised that I need a 72Amp battery - a 'H3 019' one.
Help, please!!!! Which battery do I need? In case, you were wondering why I don't just look under the bonnet, I need to buy one this weekend whilst I am away from the car, which is about 55 miles away.
