Help needed again!
I have a very good 1987 107 300SL which has developed a problem with a couple fo the gauges. Firstly the vacuum never drops below halfway, even with the engine off.
Secondly, the oil pressure gauge when starting form cold will go up tojust over 2. If you switch off, the gauge stays where it is. Upon re-starting, the gauge drops moentarily but then goes slightly higher than the original poistion. After about a mile it all works normally. I don't think either are engine related, but would like another opinion to be sure - mechanically it is perfect with only 50,000 miles and never uses any oil/water even after a high speed mad dash to France.
One final problem that may be related - once fully warm, there is a buzzing from the instrument panel. If the indicator stalk is manipulated gently it goes and it also stops when the idicators or the wipers are put on. What's that then?
Thanks for any feedback.
