124 series E500 alloys - Arrrgh !
Morning All
I've been around MB fora (is that the plural of forum ) for many years.
I was a moderator on the long-dead 124 Coupe/Cabriolet forum, until Microsoft closed all free sites.
I'm struggling with the eternal questions of alloy size and offset.
1995 E Cabriolet Sportline - standard 8 hole (7J x 15 H2, ET 41)
I have recently bought a set of four genuine E500 8 hole (8J x 16 H2, ET 34). Part # 124 401 1402.
Despite asking clearly if they would fit an E Cab - they don't
Bought in London, I'm in Manchester !
I like the 8 hole alloys, but wanted something a little more butch.
This seemed like an ideal solution.
I'm humbled to admit that I cannot get my head around this offset malarky - plus/minus ???
Anyone got a quick and easy way around this ?
The car will shortly have two new front wings, I've seen a few threads around lip rolling, so that could be an option.
Not really keen to do much at the back end - spacers ???
Alternately, what is the biggest size rim/tyre combo that will fit an E Cab without any work ?
Anyway, all useful coments would be most welcome - Please keep 'em simple.
Thanks
Chopper
