129 2000 Rust on OSRW near boot and hard top

I have found some rust bubbling on the Off side rear wing next to where the the boot lid curves to vertical ( clear as mud eh?) its about 20mm high and 10 mm widel and I think is pretty poor for a 6 year old car that cost so much money is this a well known problem and is it covered under any warranty even though the car has not got FMBSH?
Also the bottom of the off side pillar on the hard top has similar bubbling.

I can have it sorted but I dont want to invalidate any MB warranty that may still be running

Any thoughts

The hardtop is a known issue and covered under the Mobilo warranty - though as you say without a FMBSH they may refuse it. Worth taking to a dealer and getting them to raise an Eskulab report via Milton Keynes.

Has the car been resprayed at all? If so they will probably refuse it point blank - my local dealer is armed with a paint thickness meter for that very purpose.
