Hey all.

Just wanted to share a recommendation for a 12V battery if anybody is looking for one. I recently bought a Duracell replacement for a 2009 W204 C250 CDi Sport Auto and it's been excellent so far - instant start and not fazed by heavy electrical use.

The one we fitted cost £117 from batterycharged.co.uk and were happy with their service too. I collected in person. They have low stock of this particular model, but I'd recommend Duracell batteries without hesitation now. And no, I am in no way affiliated with Duracell or the retailer, just wanted to share what I thought was an excellent product at a very good price.

The battery was the 'Duracell 110/DE80 AGM Extreme'.

Safe motoring!

I know this is going to get some negative answers, but my 2005 E200 Estate has it's original battery on it. It has 04/39 on the terminal. car battery.jpg It still performs like new and churns out 13+ volts. Of course they made batteries to last then. Now they want you to buy a new one every 4 years. I will not be changing this battery until it stops doing what it should. I could change the battery tomorrow and 2 years down the line I get up and turn the key and nothing, As my Gran used to say "If it is not broke, don't fix it". but we now live in a throw it away world and people are too eager to keep changing things on cars that really do not need changing, maybe just cleaning. Spark plugs, Fuel injectors etc. When I lived in Germany I took my car to a garage for a main service and on collecting the car I noticed that I had not been charged for an air filter. I asked why they had not changed it. They said they blow it out with compressed air to remove any debris, if it does not need changing. A lot of garages just change automatically. Sorry going off track.

Agree 100%.
My W220 original lasted 15 years, replaced with merc battery.
My w251 is on its original.
For the cost - lifetime - no brainer. Merc batteries are phenomenal - lets see if/when they downgrade.
