Me and a mate have gone halves on a K reg 190 2.6, its mint!!!! the seller is a mechanic by trade and sold it to us for £350 none runner.
On sunday I did a compression test all good, fitted new plugs, air filter and fresh fuel. The dizzy cap was rotten so Chris (works 4 MB) got an new cap and rotor which I fitted tonight, she fired up straight away, no rattle no knocks nothing.
She needs throttle to keep her going, if I lift off the throttle she dies, I still need to change the fuel filter, I check the connection around the engine to make sure they are all good but I think the cold start valve might be a problem.

Anyone any other suggestions please. Will post some pics tomorrow.

Good point I didnt check that, battery had gone flat after 2 years doing nothing, put it on charge so it 24 hours worth, car started fine on the battery but voltage could still be down.

Roofy

That was might thoughts also, the exhaust isnt in the best of conditions anyway, Ive seen mice living in exhausts before, they tend to leave in a hurry when the engine starts, forced eviction................ and splatt on the wall.
