Hi,
I've ordered a Toad RK30 remote locking kit for my 1991 190e. (plenty of cheaper ones on eBay but don't look very good quality).
I'm expecting to install the unit under the rear seat where I can pick up the harness on the central locking pump, though I guess it won't be so easy to pick up the indicator leads from here.
Anyone done this recently with any tips to offer please ?

Hi,
Would,nt it be better off mounted under the dash at the front. It will be near the hazard light switch for indicators and near the door for central locking input.
I,m not sure if this applies to a 91 Mercedes but some cars with key operated central locking did,nt have a drivers door solenoid as the drivers lock was always locked manually with the key.
If you have a dash mounted central locking switch, or the central locking works when locking the boot and/or passenger door as well as the drivers door you will be ok and a solenoid is fitted in the drivers door.

Great, thanks for replies - really useful diagrams too.

There is no central locking switch by the centre console though I could pick up the indicators from there. I'll see whether the leads to the rear indicators are accessible from under the rear seat, if so it will reduce the extra wiring I need to fit, with a bit of luck !
