hi guys, you've probably answered this question several times before but im gonaa ask anyways cse i need to know.

i've got a 2.0 190E on a H-plate(90), i want to fit some 17"x7.5J alloys on the car, but also lower it by 40mm on the front and 30mm on the rear, will i need my arches done, will they rub?

is this a good size alloy for the car and will this drop on the car make it look low and aggressive enough.

thanks for your help.

lowering

hello mate , ive lowered my 2.5-16v 60mm all round and fitted 8x18" alloys and the only time they catch is if i go over a bump turning right while braking [catches slightly on r/h/side front wheel nothing to worry about]
18s are the way to go mate

Had a similar problem myself in this field.

Bought the car with 205/55/16 tyres and 16in alloys on and found it started rubbing on the R/H/F wheel arch. Only on inspection i found that the springs were bad. Replaced them with sportline 30mm and raised the bump pads to 4 bump on the back. and 4 bump on the front. despite the car still being lowered with the 30mm springs it still looks nice with the bumps on there.

Also when lowering the car height you would be best to get the wheels re-alined by a mB specialist. as lowering will send your suspension out causing the wheels to rub.

I've got a 1990 2.0 auto with -30mm Eibach springs with #1 pads at the front and #3 pads at the back. Wheels are 7.5"x17" and have no issues with rubbing
