190 with ASD Rear diff, which oil ?

Hi, hope someone out there can help.
Just bought my first Merc and there is that whine out of the rear axle.
So am going to change the oil in it but don't know what type to use as it is an ASD unit, I am told that I have to use special oil ???
Anybody know which type / grade of oil to use in rear differential of a 190 with ASD ?
Any help greatly appreciated.

diff oils is 90w, dont get mixed up with the fluid for the asd which is topped up under the bonnet and is the hydrolic system nothng to do with the actual diff

Thanks teky, on ur advice, I have just been out and bought Carlube EP 90 Hypoid gear oil, spec API GL-5. So that should do the job. Will change the oil in it and see how whiny it will be ( fingers crossed ! )

could you tell me what fluid goes in asd bottle under bonnet as the last stuff i got from mb dealer was mega bucks thanks :grin:

I have the following info:

Gear Oil MBZ 235.0 GL-5, SAE 90 & 85W-90 Hypoid gear oils for axles in passenger cars and commercial vehicles as well as planetary hub reduction axles, unsynchronised MB transfer cases and some mechanical steering gears.
