Here's a goody, Boot lock assembly on a 1987 190E. Had it apart to repair the central locking arm and found that it was made up of two parts, the lower part with the arm on and an upper part with a cam on which inhibits the metal arm of the claw catch, mounted on a central post and held on by a 'C' clip, there seems to be a spring required between the two discs but there isn't, any ideas? I have found a 'A' shaped one on the workshop floor but I don't think it came from here having spent a full day trying to fit it in without success. If I was designing it I would have a small coil spring in the slot of the lower part acting on the blade of the upper part but am I on the right track or not? Anyone care to pull their 190E boot lock apart and look?
Pete

Spring

Found it, it is a very small coil spring about 1cm x 1mm and it fits in the slot between the two discs.
