The E stands for fuel injection!!!!!!!!!!!

The 190E is fuel injected and the 190 is carburetor.

rememeber when the 190 came out. Definitely carburettor, hence plain 190.
190E ( for "Einspritz, meaning injected) must therefore be an injection model.
Unless Mb have been and gone and been all contrary again.

There was me thinking injection was spelled with an 'E' (enjection).

Just going from memory, I think the carbs were done away with after a few years (87ish?). They brought out a 1.8 for the last few years, but pretty sure that had injection also. I think the 2.3 was always injected.

how can you tell from the pix?

The first one looks to have distinctly injection-type induction piping under the air filter. Can't see much on the second one.

All 190Es have Bosch KE JET (jetronic injection).

The only carb 190 model I am aware of is the 190 (no E)

Nope, that's an E. The carb (which I have) engine looks different, with the air intake on the other side, and only came in 2.0. The 1.8 was E only.
And the 2.6 is definetly E as well.

But yours is a carb version unleached.

The two on Ebay are injection Mustang.

When the W201 came out there was a 190E (inj) and a lower cost 190 (carb).
By far most cars are injected.

Regarding 190 forum (good site), there was a guy on the other day with a KE-Jetronic (injection) car who wanted to convert it to a injection. LOL.
