Hi all. hope someone could help me out as i'm new to Mercs.

I have recently aquired a 1987 190E Manual with 93,000 miles on the clock. Occasionally it will stick in second gear, a bit of fiddling with the gear leaver frees it, however now its stuck in reverse and wont release.

Is this a major problem or one that can be rectified easily?

Hi

I would check the gear box selector rods bolts are tight. They are a 5 or 6 mm allen key. More than likely come loose. May be a bit of a squeeze. If it is this problem. Then you shoul find on of the levers not in the down ward position. Tighten it up and you should be back it business.
