190e headlight switch

Does any one know if the headlight/sidelight/fog light switch should be illuminated on my 1990 190e? I know there is a bulb in the centre which comes on when the switch is pulled out for the rear fog lights but should the rest of the switch and surround be lit up? Haynes wiring diagram does not seem to show any bulb and the switch assembly seems to be one large sealed unit.

No to the later 190, the pre face lift models (1989) the headlight switch was illuminated
