190e no hot air from heater

I need help to fix my 190e's heating problems. I have no heat at all just cold, or slightly warm air from the vents, evrything is working eg fan etc but no matter what I do there's just no hot air coming out. any suggestions will be appreciated.

190E Heater

There's a vacuum operated valve under the scuttle panel on the drivers side. Check the vacuum pipe is connected correctly. Try removing the valve and inserting a piece of heater hose instead. If the heater then works you know where you're looking. The heater was poor on mine when I first got it and the temperature gauge was varying a lot. I changed the 'stat and that was a complete cure.

BTW, just in case you're new to the car, you only get cold air out of the centre vents. Only the ones at the corners of the dash give hot air.

try unblocking the matrix heater run a hose by through it
worked for me

You need to remove the dash, horizontal brace between the A posts and lower the steering column!

stoopid suggestion - make sure water is full - if the water is low, the heater matrix is the first thing to lose water....
