thought it would be tracking, but on a trip to France last week the car pulled to the right ... weird. does anyone know what steering/suspension component would most likely be worn, to produce this alternate side pulling?

while on subject, gotta say i was impressed, actually no - *amazed* by the excellent quality of French roads. very smooth, no roadworks anywhere on an 1800-mile roundtrip, beautifully clean and frequent service stops. jeez, coming back to the UK was like falling backwards through time by about a hundred years.

anyway - anyone any ideas about the pulling problem? much appreciated, as ever!!

Umm if you do a search on the forum I think you'll find alot of posts on this subject but in summary, the W201 (190 series) steering geometry has a tendency to want to follow the camber of the road... so on a totally flat road with no camber the car should go in a straight line. If you're driving in the UK chances are the car will want to pull left following the camber at the side of the road and vice-versa for the continent. The W202 (C-class) also has this 'feature' I couldn't comment about the W203 (latest C-class).
