190e auto. When starting it often fails first or second time then goes OK with a bit of hesitation initially. On idle there is an odd faltering occasionally. I changed the plugs but that is all. Anything particular about this car or should the usual suspects be tried - cables, distributor head I suppose?
thanks

Start with the cheapest..... Distributer, Fuel additive, Check OVP relay connections (fuse etc).

an idea

I changed my Auxillaryair slide under manifold. My starting (intermitent)
faults are history. the old ones can (sometimes) get fouled up and break.

Just an idea. :( life is too short for cheap beer

If its only cold start issues.

The two obvious things are the OVP relay and the Idle control valves. Both prone to faliure in older mercs.

Could also be a temp sensor for the CIS injection although i wouldnt bet on it.
