190E with Seasonal affective dissorder

so..a while back you guys gave me some advice when my 190E 2.0 auto started running very heavy on fuel, losing approx 100miles out of every full tank. At my wits end I tried everything and investigated every lead and tip, none worked. How ever, summer is around the corner, weather is mild and getting warmer and what do you know? fuel consumption is starting to creep up. Things got way out of control after a service and exhaust replacement which took place september last. I am baffled, confused and currently my local shell's best customer. Can anyone shed any light?

From what you've said it is probably ambient temperature related. Could be a faulty temperature sender or something to do with the air intake side thinking the temperature is something it is not so using more fuel.

I don't know how the choke on your car works but that could be stuck on or the cold start valve is maybe working longer than it needs to hence higher fuel consumption.

Only other thing I've read about causing excessive fuel consumpthion is a faulty fuel distributor but I wouldn't think that is the prob in your case.

I'd spend £100 and go to a an MB dealer for a diagnostic.
