Hi
I've had my old 1972 350sl renovated and it looks great. Only problem is that the engine runs really rough. Hesitates when pulling away, hesitates at about 1,500 revs and after about 200 miles after a service pretty much hesitates all the time. I've been told by the garage it needs a new throttle position sensor as the original one is worn. Only problem is that they don't seem to be made by Bosch any more and I can't find one anywhere. Does anyone have any useful info? Is there an OEM version?

Thanks for your help.

Check these out to see if they are remaking the part.

Have you had your spark plugs and spark plug wires replaced anytime? If not,
that could be a problem. Very old, worn out spark plug wires with either very low
or very high resistance (on mine the brand new wires have about 4-5 k-Ohm resistance)
would cause this. Had happened to me. Also, check the plug gap.

Good luck,
Arv.

Thanks Arv but just had all the HT cables and plugs replaced along with the points. If it helps the part numbers are:

Mercedes part no: 0035451124

Bosch part no: 0280120018

Cheers

Thanks for that - had a good look through but doesn't look like they are re-making it.

I just checked few places but they don't have it. You might want to check local auto junk yards and see if you find it.

Good luck,
Arv.
