1977 450SL - Your advice please

Firstly, h*ll
o all! If all goes well I shall soon be joining your elite band. I am looking at buying the above and it seems sound but needs an oil cooler and rear silencer. He's asking for £5500, and said he would deduct the cost of replacing these parts.
Can anybody point me in the direction of a cheap supplier of parts.
Anyone know any good body shops in London?

Have a look at www.eurocarparts.com. They sell both OE and cheaper (but probably inferior quality) parts. These are usually substantially cheaper than MB. Your exhaust is in their catalogue, but I couldn't spot the oil cooler - but try searching on the website or phoning your local branch.

Also, I've not yet used them, but from what others have said, they are worth trying, http://www.dbdepot.de/englisch/index.html. The parts search facility is only in German, but I understand the proprietor speaks good English, so a phone call or e-mail might do the trick.
