1979 300 SD Sunroof Problem

Looking for some help fixing a problem with my electric sunroof. Using the dash switch, it opens no problem, but when I depress the swith to close, nothing happens and the roof stays open . If I depress the dash switch to close and at the same time gently push the sunroof...it will close. Any ideas on what could be causing this and how to repair? I would appreciate someone's ideas.

You may have spilled anything on it. Check the contacts on your switch. And also check for a blown fuse.
