1986 300e brake lamps inop

Hi guys. My 86 300e's stop lamps are not working. The brake light switch on the brake pedal is working fine, the fuse is fine, and there is power at the switch, but the lights in the rear never recieve the power. Is there something in between the switch and lamps? Is there a relay or something like that?

Since the car isn't that young anymore, it could be that the wires going to the back have corroded. It could also be that they grinded through because of vibration. This could also lead to a shortcut.

You will have to follow the wires through the car and make sure that they are sound.
