1986 W124 Ignition Key Stuck in! Help. Emergency!

Disaster!!!

Got spare key cut. Tried it in ignition, started fine. Turned off engine. Now cannot turn key, cannot remove key. Steering lock is not on. Have read some previous posts on this problem, do not like what I'm reading.

I see its an Auto, daft but make sure lever is fully in park, give it an extra shove while turning key. does it turn at all? Dont force it.

Appreciate fast reply, but a bit of background here:

The storey is: Car with auto box specialist, getting full recon on autobox. It was while dropping car to specialist that the key issue arose. The specialist is about 50 odd miles from where I live!!!! By the time I posted original problem with key, autobox will be on a table being operated on! Box specialist tells me he can work away on box, car pushed in on ramps for removal of box, but will need key by next Thursday to test new box......... ouch....
