that's a lot

depends what luxuries were thrown inthe mix. 1985 500SL fully loaded was about 30k plus the bits.

Er. Em. Ah Myros.

I'm quiet a bit out. I was basing it on the newer R129 prices a few years afterwards. Didn't realise the R107 was that much cheaper (less than half).

A couple of years after after the r129 89 introduction the base price was:

300SL MANUAL:_______ £51,760
300SL-24 MANUAL:____ £56,380
500SL AUTO:_________ £72,320

are you saying my car is cheaper than yours?

not if you have a look at the bills I've run up since buying it. Passed the MOT flying colours yesterday though. I bet I go through the super 4star hi-test quicker than you as well.
How you doing Pascal?

Oh I'm fine Myros. Yea you'd beat me no prob.

But TG the only expenses I've had since January are: Fuel, car shampoo, car mats & air freshner (not needed with electric roof down:lol:)

electric , schmelectric

I bet it's still no faster than me doing mine by hand. Just the thought of all that lovely leather getting soaked doesn't half stir the sinews. Any way, here we are hi-jacking this perfectly innocent thread. Okay, yours cost more than mine, but the pound has been getting worth less and less over the years.
Suffice it to say the cost of SLs ha always been enough to make me wince.
