1988, 230 Te Auto

Can someone please help me? I have a 230 TE AUTO, the fuel pump wont work off the ignition but will work off a direct live feed when tested.

Cannot find location of fuses or relay for fuel pump, can anybody help me as Haynes manuel very vague.

Fuel pump relay is a double relay, combined with the auto transmission kickdown. Behing the battery, there is a plastic panel. Force this panel off and there is a relay here, which you can replace.

I am sure if you did a search on "fuel pump relay" you would find a wealth of information on this forum, since the W124 is probably the most popular car owned by forum users; and this is a fairly common issue.
