Good Day All.

Ever since I have own my 230TE I have been unable to open or close the rear left window fron the front center console, but the window will open and close fine by the switch on the door.

The 1st thing I tryed was to swap over one of the other switches on the center console and still it does not work.

I have a copy of the Haynes joke book for my car, but the Wiring Diagram / Schematics is nothing like what I have in the car.

Can someone please point my to a good copy of the Electric Window Wiring Diagram / Schematics.

Or advice me what the problem might be.

It's only this one window that does not work, all others work fine.

Thanks for your time.

Best Regards.

Ok thanks. I will await your reply.

I am sure it has to be down to a broken wire or bad connection somewhere.

But it's just strange that is works from the switch on the door, but not the front center console.

Best Regards.

The wire colours are the same at the door end as they are on the centre console so it should be easy to draw your own diagram if you realy need it.

Check the integrity of the wires that pass thru the door pillar since these are often the cause of this trouble, one of them breaks and some functionality disapears with it.

The circuit is fairly straight forward in that power is applied to the motor of one or the other polarity to the motor to wind the window up or down by either window switch (door/console).

In the door wires there is a 12v supply from the anti kid switch in your console and a ground/body earth wire, these wires provide the power for the door mounted switch (since your door switch works it is not here that a fault lies) which in its rest position connects the motor to the console switch by two other wires, my guess is to look for a fault here.

As I mentioned before it likely that one of these wires is broken inside the rubber boot or door pillar and is the root cause of your trouble (it was on mine), if you splice in a fresh wire(s) to replace the damaged one(s) do be careful to insulate and suport your wiring splices well to avoid the risk of a short circuit or other failiure some time in the future, use sleeving and not just tape to insulate your connections.
To access the wires properly it maybe (its almost certain) that you will need to remove the door pilar trim cover and the door card.

It seems that I only have one broken wire and that is the Green/Red wire.

Now I just have to pin point the brake in the cable so I can replace it.

I am hoping it will be in the flex as that will be easier to repair.

Best Regards.

All fixed and working fine again.

I found a broken wire in the rubber boot and also a repair that someone else had done, and a 3rd wire that had the outer cover cracked.

So I remove all 3 wires and ran new cables in, I don't do patching.

Thanks again for your time.

Best Regards.
