1990 190e carb, fuel problems

car seems to be runnig extreamly rich
emmisions are 10% to high
and not sure if the vacuume lines are on right or how to tune the carb any ideas?

car seems to drive ok but you can smell the petrol off it

Mixture is deffo out. Under the carb is a cylindrical object with a 22mm nut locking it to the Carb body, slacken the screw and with the engine running turn it a little at a time till the engine sounds and runs nicely. You really need a gas analyser to set it properly. Also make sure your choke is not stuck on. Its at the bulk head side of the Carb and has two hoses going into it. Look at the retaining ring and make sure it has not turned.
