Getting fed up with poor starting. The good bit is it does always start and runs perfectly once started, but if the engine has not run for longer than about 6 hours it coughs rather than bursts in to life and I have to keep the starter churning whilst this goes on.
I'm sorrry to admit this situation has gone on for over a year. In that time I've paid a local Mercedes repairer £50 with no receipt to put mud on the carpet (cunningly moving the nice clean rag I had put over it), steel my car parking money from inside the car and allegedly 'clean up some connections' - inside distributor cap & HT I believe. Oh, just to make sure I understood who's boss, my car was not ready when I was told it would be. Phew, glad I got that off my chest - feel better already.
I've recently fitted new plugs and new HT leads with no difference.
I've heard worn fuel injectors on this Bosch K jetronic ? pressurised fuel system can allow petrol to leak past their seats when the car is not in use which presumably causes an over rich mixture when the engine is next started and wonder if this is the cause, but it will cost me about £120 and a DIY replacement to find out!
Any advice would be much appreciated, the milage is 131,000 & I normally DIY repairs.
