1991 sl500 power hood

i have recently purchased a 1991 sl500 that has been parked up for two years and i cant get the power hood to do anything .i have got power to the motor and all the fuses are ok ihave fitted a new operating switch as was told this couuld be the problem still nothing at all would much appreciate any advice as what to try next thanks wes

Try a manual hood operation as this normaly resets all the locks and switches
