I have this strange problem the left turn signal lights staying on & will not flash.

This also manifests itself when the car is turned off & key removed from the ignition.

Has anybody heard of such a thing happening?

I have found that the instrument cluster fuse #17 will eliminate this but all the other lights inside are cut as well when the fuse is removed.

Also does anybody have a wiring schematic or diagram for this model & year?

NO I already

Do you have your standing lamps switched on?

- checked that.

This problem is independant of the light switch settings.

But that was my first inclination too.

Thanks

Faulty Switch???

I still would check the light switch to see if it is at fault. I personally do not have the electrical diagram for the pins controlling the standing lamps, but maybe Malcolm or some one else in the forum does.

Then check the switch for continuity in the off position.

I am assuming that the right turn signal functions as normal, blinking and everything else since you do not mention it. This leads me to believe that the relay is functioning correctly. And also since you do not mention it I believe the hazard lights also function correctly. Thus narrowing it down to the stalk or the light switch being a good place to start.

I am sure that if I am incorrect someone on the forum will correct me.

Hope This Helps!

Something tells me this may be due to wiring.
I've heard of the wiring on these getting brittle & cracking then shorting.

Is there any truth to that or is that only limited to the areas that are near heat?

If this problem is only a switch that makes for a easy fix by swaping out a part.

Unplug the N10 relay that contains the flasher unit and see if it goes
