Hello, I am today the proud new owner of a 1994 E300 Diesel saloon. It seems to drives well but needs a bit of the ol' TLC to bring it back to glory. However I am curious because on the boot door to the right (opposite from the model number), there is the word "CICELEY" where I might have expected to read "diesel".

What does it mean? The guy who sold me the car mentioned something about it being a rare model in UK and even a non-standard length?

Still confused

I did search and found this company. However it was not clear to me why a used car company would put place its trade name on a car as if it manufactured it. Is this normal practice?

There seemed to be a trend for it a few years ago. Personally I'd have peeled it back off and stuck it on the salesman's forehead, but maybe I'm picky!
They may have tried to do their own 'specials'. So, perhaps a few extras or bits of trim that didn't come as standard, but I doubt there will be anything mechanically different on the car.

They're a bit more that a used car company - they're one of the old generation of MB dealers who were canned a few years ago when MB had a big re-org.
Ciceley have been in the (car) news recently as they just been awarded the TVR franchise.

Drop them an email, or give them a call and ask them about your car.

The dealer principal posted his contact details on the PistonHeads web site, which are interesting as they include his mobile number, although the only email address I can see for them is info@ciceleycontinental.co.uk
