I recently found that my battery was draining after only 36 - 48 hours . Eventually it would no longer take a charge even after a long run of almost 100 Km. I was told that the battery was knackered. Having bought a new battery, I now find that the same problems is occurring. I cannot find any lamps remaining on. I make sure all electrical accessories are off. There is a problem with the right hand passenger door in that it does not activate the courtesy light when opened. I also find that the ignition switch will not cut out the wipers or any of the electrical window or mirror switches when in the off position. Is this normal? I bought the car last year here in Spain and it had a full service history.

Hi,
Welcome to the forum.
On your year w202 the windows and roof will operate with the drivers side door open, Have you tried your windows with the key out, and "ALL" doors fully shut.
Check boot light is extinguished when shut
Remove/replace fuses till the errant circuit is found.
I would start by looking at the passenger door switch first, though i think you could possibly have one or more faults.

Hi,
To locate the problem area take off the negative battery lead and connect a test light (like a 12vneon screwdriver with a lead attatched or 12v bulb with 2 wires attatched) between the negative battery lead and a good earth on the body. If the light comes on bright there is a short to earth. Go to each fuse box and pull out each fuse one by one and check the test light to see if the test light has dimmed (replace each fuse after each test) if it has dimmed there is a problem with that circuit (*note there can be a fault in more than one circuit). Check all the connections for a short to earth on that circuit, keep checking until the light again goes dim and you have found the problem or A Problem. Keep going thought the fuses until the the test light is iether out all together or very dim as some vehicles do have a slight current drain. Sounds a bit long winded but by taking out the fuses in this method it shouldn't take all that long to at least find the probem circuit. Start by testing any circuits that you suspect as in your message.
