I have a problem with lack of power ,its idles fine but will not pull away ,or does so very slowly ,on the motorway car will not do any more than 55mph,car has been weel looked after and has only done 70,000 miles from new ,any ideas please would be grateful

Assuming the transmission isn't dropping the power, i.e. car revs o.k. but doesn't pull? and the engine management light isn't on? it could be that a coil or both, are "breaking down" under load.

This is a fairly common fault on the C180 and won't normally show up on the diagnostics, but will show up on the normal "Sun" type electronic / electrical diagnostic system. If you have a local indie garage that has this equipment they can easily check it for you.
