Hi Everyone, Ive Just Been To My Local Garage To Have Diff/ Gearbox Oil Checked , The Reason Is Ive Got A Not Loud But Noticable Humming/ High Pitched Noise Coming I Think From Gearbox Area, Its There In All Gears ( Manual Gearbox ) And Goes When I Accelerate But Comes Back When I Lift Off Or Cruise,even Tried Turning Off Ignition And Coasting But Still There, Clutch Up Or Down, Anyway Oils Are Ok, Im Puzzeled, Any Ideas Would Be Appreciated Thanks Rob:d

This is the pinion bearing in the differential (rear axle) there are firms out there that rebuild them, where in the UK are you

Hi Mate Im In Boston Lincs, Sounds Expensive, What If I Fill Diff With Molyslip , Would That Help, Is There A Way Of Checking To Make Sure Its The Pinion Bearing, Thanks For The Quick Reply , Rob

Your fault is too well known to be anything else. there is a firm in Milton Keynes that does this. thats not very far for you. if you do a search here you should find it,its only a few weeks back.

No additive will help
