1997 SL320 windscreen - UV/heat reflective ?

I am going to buy a GPS-based Gatso detector.
Does anyone know if a 1997 SL has a UV-reflective windscreen ?

If so, I would need to buy an external re-radiating aerial to get the thing to work - about £75 !!

I can't be sure but I would be very surprised if it did have its a bit early, I think the first model with this type of screen was a 220 about 2000

I have a SL320 1998, and have a Road Angel GPS unit. :wink:
I have no problems with this, it works fine.

I place it in the small glove box in the centre of the dash, half in, half out.
And connect it to the cigar lighter, via a flexi cable supplied.

As this is my second car, I use the unit in my A class (A170CDI) with the windscreen fitting carrier (supplied), no problems.
This unit is excellent, I look at others, but this is the one.
They are also bring out an attachment to plug into the unit to pick up laser (hand held units etc.) some time this month. :?:
