I own a 1997 C180 Elegance Estate. Petrol Triptonic W202.
In Autumn 2023, the head gasket was replaced.
from Feb. 2024 to current date, the coolant warning light is coming on. I put water in it, it goes off. drive a fair bit, it will start to come o. and go off and then just stay on until water is added.
The mechanic pressure checked the system and there are no leaks. I had an electrician specialist check and he confirmed nothing wrong with the sensor/electrical.
when this coolant warning light comes on, there is a definite dry high pitched sound, very subtle, coming from the engine.
can anyone offer advice? many thank yous.
