Hello again,
My 1997 W202 has developed a fault it starts fist time, but seems to hunt for a couple of seconds and then runs ok, then after a few hundred yards it surges as if there is a fuel shortage. after half a mile or so it runs perfectly.
The pre-heater light comes on and goes off as normal, I have noticed there is a slight smell of derv in the engine bay, but no evidence of any leaks
This car had a new injector pump about 12 months ago, any ideas? I am a little bit worried as these were the symptoms that started and got steadily worse before the last injector pump failed at 66k. Is it unusual for a pump to fail at such low mileage?. Thank you.
