Hi all.
I am new to this forum. Just found it on the internet and unfortunately am seeking for help with my problem.
My wife has a 1998 C230 and tonight on her way home and she noticed that her windshield wiper was not functioning properly in that it was moving up and the down the window erractically, moving then kind of sticking, then moving some more and sticking, ditto, ditto.
When she got home I had a look and there seem to be a burning smell coming from the base of the windshield wiper location. Additionally when I tried to pull the stuck windshield wiper back into its position is made a burring noice.
Now the windshield wiper does not move at all an it just makes a burring noise.
I am not that technically minded when it comes to her car however my gut feeling is that it may possibly the windshield wiper motor and the gearing mechanism where the windshield wiper connects onto the motor.
Can you please provide me with your feed back with what you think is the problem if I am wrong.
Additionally if I am correct in my assumption do you think I will have to replace both the windshield wiper motor and the wiper arm/stalk thing.
How easy and operation is this?
Thanks for your feed back on this matter. Much appreciated.
Regards
Grant
