1998 SLK service indicator

Hi, My service indicator has just come on, but hubby serviced the car about 2months ago......in the book it says I can reset indicator by pushing and holding in the knob on the dash then turn the key blah blah - but it isn't working - am I doing something wrong or does it have to go on a STAR to be reset?

You can do this your self,,it does not always work the first time,,do try again and you should be rewarded

Is this the method you've been trying L-J? This guy says it took him a couple of go's - so maybe just keep trying?
