OK, here`s my dilema.

I have got this 108d traveliner that i have had for nearly 5 years. In that time I have changed the interior with a v class trend interior, pretty good too.
I am generally very happy with the car, in the 5 years i have had it, its been very reliable, and very cost effective to run, not needing many parts.

I have converted the car into a whell chair conversion for my 10 year old child who is wheelchair bound, this works well with still plenty of room.

OK, thing is, I live in the south wales valleys where it is very hilly most places, and the gera ratio`s in the vito are such that most od the time I am in 2nd gear to climb these hills with the engine screaming, as soon as i change to 3rd gear, engine dies as not enough torque and ration`s too far apart, therefore have to go back into 2nd.

I would love to be able to modify the car to give it extra performance, with either a turbocharger or supercharger. This model was not available as a turbo therefore quite awkward to do. Some cars have superchargers fitted where the aircon pump bolts so maybe alittle easier to do.

Has anyone tried anything like this before on this model engine, or is this engine the same as in other merc models that have turbo`s already fitted.

I dont want to be nigel mansell around the place, it would be really nice though to have enough power to make it easier to drive around these hills without screemin the balls of the engine.

I dis consider changing for a new 110 cdi, but heard alot of horror stories about expensive breakdowns with cpu, injectors that cannot be removed then a head replacement etc...

I like my car, its very reliable, old style engine without major electronics governing it, and want to keep it, but would also love to have alittle extra ooomph for the hills.

Any help or advice is very much appreciated.:p

On another small note, anyone with any advice on how to change the synchro in the gearbox, and how much the parts cost, as my box is crunching into 3rd sometimes, got used to it now so only crunches when i forget to change slowly, but if it can be fixed without costing an arm and a leg:shock:, i will try ti fix it.

Again, thanks for all your help.:)

Best regards, Anthony.
