Anyone shed any light on this -
Two scenarios here -
Cold starts fine in the morning but when I try to accelerate moderately past around 45mph it intermittently hits a very noticeable flat spot, albeit a little lumpy. You can floor the pedal, but it just stays limping (and lumpy) at 45 mph. If I limp along for 30 odd seconds and try not to push the acceleration too hard it then picks up speed and works fine.
Second scenario - After having driven around on a journey (as much as 30 miles) and then I try to accelerate moderately when I'm at speed 60 -80mph it will flatten again (with a little lumpiness). I've got to release the throttle a bit and allow it to get up to speed (or faster) in its own time.
This is not always there which puzzles me. I've just changed the fuel filter so it's not this - as the symptons can describe fuel starvation.
I've read about bubbles in the fuel lines, air mass meters, turbo valves etc, but where do I start?
This is the 6 cylinder bosch inline engine, not the CDI, so I wouldn't have thought there will be an electronic skull duggery going on, and it'll be something mechanical(ish).
Any help would be appreciated.
