Hi guys,

I have seen a number of historical posts where people have had the same issue. Would love some advice as to whether there are any alternative solutions other than buying a new lid costing £250.00

Please help if you can.....

thank in advance H

Hi Malcolm,

Thanks for responding. I have been offered a replacement glove box lid but in dark grey and have been told that you can swap the mechanism (latch) from that to mine. Do you know if this is true/possible?

Regards

If you have a good look at yours, you will see it is impossible to dismantle without damaging it.

I fixed one a couple of weeks ago, which is apparently still working.

One last thing - are you sure the latch is broken? (it will not open on the handle, but will close (and thus stay closed forever)).
Sometimes it is the striker that it latches onto that is broken, or just out of adjustment.

Thanks Alex,

Yeah, it is open but will not close. Had it confirmed by Motoraid that is broken.
New one on order as I need it sooner rather than later as I am selling car.

Odd then, when they break it is usually a problem opening them.

If it will not close, it is usually a striker problem, as I have previously suggested.
