Are there a multitude of camshafts which fit all engines (obviously of the same type) that have different overlap/lift rates? Also is there a larger bore throttle body which fits all airflow meters or does one have to replace the whole succession of inlet parts? I have a 230TE which became a lot better after my giving it a proper twiddle and clean, but standard is fairly underwhelming, especially when you are trying to overtake a cloth cap on a windy road!

All of the bits that you mention are exact components only made for that engine only, nothing would be gained by changing the throttle body, its all electronically controlled. MB are one of the few cars where no one make any hotting up components
