2001 SLK BAS warning light diagnosis

Will give you the way to open by hand, that will reset the mico switchs, you will have to wait till the morning as i have to go now!

The roof.....
Not sure about the SLK, but on my CLK 230k (cab) I experienced the same symptoms. Operate the switch, flashing red light but nothing else at all. Total silence/lack of action.

Turned out to be a duff relay fitted to the roof hydraulic pump unit.
It so happened that the fuel pump relay (also fitted in the boot) was the same part number so I swapped them over. The roof worked but the car wouldn't start. Problem solved, I bought a new relay for not too many Euros. It's been fine ever since.

Someone told me as well that this can be caused by a faulty or just dirty wheel sensor - not sure if this is right??
