Guys,

Need a little help. Somewhat hesitant with removing my EGR valve as there appears to be absolutely nothing on-line showing this procedure for my straight-6 version 2002 S210 320 CDi. I am getting black smoke under acceleration after periods of steady driving. I just want to remove it, clean it and put it back. Simple ... or is it? Is anyone able to help with photos or a video, or direct me to somewhere that shows this other than every other damn version, but mine? Need to know the extent and what I would need to buy e.g. gaskets etc., which I doubt are required - but do not know ... and will probably go for a delete in the near future only, my ECU is locked.

Many thanks in advance.

L.

I don't recall any videos for it either. You just need to unbolt everything logically. The EGR cooler will also have to be removed and will result in some water loss.

Thanks for your replies, guys. I thought it was just me. LOL! I shall do that then, as I thought - and change the coolant at the same time. Thanks again. L.

I know this a bit of an old thread. I was hoping you found any info on removing the egr. I'm struggling to get the egr cooler off/disconnected from the egr.

The egr is loose from the manifold and boost pipe. The only thing that seems to be holding it in place is the lower pipe of the egr cooler. Do I just need to pull harder or am I missing something?
