Hi all, my 1st post on the site.

I've just bought a 2002 S Class (could someone please tell me what it is, ie W20 or whatever lol :p) but the autodip mirrors are doing my head in!

I've been told there is a way to override this function and I would really appreciate if anyone could tell me how to do so.

Thanks in advance for any replies :)

You need to select the convenience options, then scroll down to mirrors and select "Dipping mirror off"

In the same menu you can select any option shown, There is a lot to learn, but do have a play as you cant do any harm

chaps, which auto dip?
There is the N/S mirror dip when you select reverse - that is easy to turn off, just make sure that the O/S switch is kept selected on the adjuster.
The auto dimming mirror - to my knowledge that isn't switchable and to be honest it shouldn't be as it's a brilliant feature.

If you mean the rear view mirror and door mirrors which which stop idiots behind blinding you at night with full beam, then you cant change them ( why would you want to!!)

So maybe its the passenger side mirror when you select reverse, then I think you just select reverse, then adjust the mirror to normal view, then select any other gear.
That should be it.
Some one more technically gifted than me might have another solution

:p

This would also do it must you must press the M too release the memory and press 1, 2 or 3 on the seat button to store it

Just press the button that adjusts the mirror onto the drivers one. It won't dip when you put it in reverse then.

That could explain why some do not dip sometimes, handy tip thanks
