Hi, can anyone tell me if a pair of xenon headlamps from a 2005 c class coupe will be a direct fit for my halogen headlamps in my 2003 model ? I really don't want to buy them and find they will not fit. Also as the new headlamps come complete with ballasts etc is the wiring compatable ie the same plugs or is some modification needed. Of coarse having the beam aligned will be done by the specalisrts but I would like to fit the units myself.
Many thanks, Gavin.

If your car is also a coupe, then yes a direct replacement. The wiring will be the same, except you will not be able to alter the beam height using the dashboard wheel. Xenons are designed to be auto-levelling, using sensors on the front and rear axles, not vacuum like halogens.

The headlamps can be set using the adjusting screws as normal but as the load in the car changes, i.e. boot full of luggage, you will end up blinding on-coming drivers..
