I find the local FB buy and sell groups, whilst full of chancers and spammers are pretty good for selling. I’ve liquidated quite a few bits that way and always gone pretty fast.

Cars are advertised nationally, I think, not local. The Turbo was bought by a very nice young(ish) guy from Leicester. Viewed the car via a WhatsApp video call, then came down that evening to seal the deal. Has since texted a couple of times to say how much he's enjoying the car!
The previous sale was our 944 Turbo which also took less than a week to sell, about two years ago.

(Thinks - must edit my signature to take the Turbo off...)

You can pick “Market Place” or local groups that you’re a member of

Ah yes. Marketplace obviously for a specialist car, to get the widest audience.
When I advertised the 944 Turbo, I paid £70 to advertise on Autotrader, £25 for Pistonheads and FB Market place was free. No calls at all from the first two and three serious buyers queuing up from FB. Said it all for me...

From the above comments I’m wondering if people prefer to buy locally?
That was my experience this time round.
It’s certainly a lot easier than travelling a long way to view a car that has been poorly described.

I did about the same, had to get the train down to the big smoke and then a bit further sarf, it was a nice trip back though playing with everything on the car

I travelled 90 miles to buy my CLS but being enthusiasts of the marque I presume that we are more likely to travel to get the right vehicle.

Was lucky with one of ours, 7 miles away whilst the others where both over 200 miles.

It seems that northern folk pick better options for their cars and sell them for less, even new.
