2003 e270 cdi wont reach normal engine temperature

Ive noticed over the last week its only reaching 50- 60c, if i use the aircon or sit in traffic it might increase a notch, but in the past it was sitting at 80-90c.

Since this has been going on when i use the hot air inside the car i usually have it at about 20c but now i have to turn the dial round to about 26c to get the same heat out of it!

I am sure that the cooling fans are not on permanent.

So I hope someone may have an idea PLEASE!!

sounds as if the engine water thermostat is stuck slightly open, or opens too early.

Thats what i would be putting my money on!!!

Not uncommon on the 220cdi!!!
