2004 350SL Roof issues

Hi, I've just bought a 2004 350 SL, 77K miles, FSH, and generally in very good condition for a 14 year old car, but the central locking and roof fail after the car has been parked in my garage for a day or two, or even just for a few hours. I've replaced the aux battery in the boot. Weirdly, all starts to work correctly after driving the car for about 30 mins. I've also plugged the aux battery into a battery conditioner when the car's not in use, but the fault still occurs. Any ideas? Thanks
